Melocactus Matanzanus 5.5"

Melocactus Matanzanus is a symmetrical cactus with beautiful, strong spines. These cacti become very interesting with age, growing a fuzzy "cephalium" on top of the cactus that produces the plant's flowers and edible fruit. The common name, Turks Cap, refers to this wool-covered sphere at the top of the plant which resembles the traditional Turkish fez hat popular during the Ottoman rule. Popular varieties include: Melocactus matanzanus, Melocactus azureus, Melocactus violaceus and Melocactus peruvianus.
