Begonia masoniana, commonly known as the Iron Cross Begonia, is a remarkable houseplant admired for the distinctive beauty of its textured and contrasting foliage. Native to the tropical forests of Asia, particularly China and Vietnam, this rhizomatous species belongs to the Begoniaceae family.
Its large, asymmetrical, heart-shaped leaves stand out for their puckered texture and velvety surface. The light green to olive-green foliage is adorned at the center with a dark chocolate-brown pattern forming a cross, which earned the plant its common name, Iron Cross Begonia. This characteristic marking contrasts beautifully with the glossy, slightly fuzzy surface of the leaves.
As is nature, actual plant may vary from the photo!
