The name "vestita" refers to the plants' vestments - its robe of white hairs! It is a slender, columnar cactus donning a robe of white fur. It's also known as Old Man Opuntia, Cotton Pole, Cotton Coral Cactus and is native to the higher altitudes of Argentina and Bolivia.
