Moon cactus is made by grafting Gymnocalycium mihanovichii to hylocereus cactus. They completely lack chlorophyll, exposing the red, orange, yellow or purple pigmentation. Gymnocalycium are relatively small cacti that are known to flower easily. These plants can handle full sun and they go dormant during winter, when the soil can be left completely dry until spring.
